3.1. Designer Settings

Designer settings allow to customize the aspect and behavior of the report design editor. The following settings are available:

  • Default report units

Report units that are used for newly created reports.

  • Page margins visible by default

Flag that indicates whether the page margins are shown for new reports.

  • Rulers visible by default

Flag that indicates whether the rulers are visible for new reports.

  • Snap to guides by default

Flag that indicates whether the guide snapping is active for new reports.

  • Default scripting language

Scripting language to use in expressions for newly created reports.

Grid Settings

  • Show grid

Flag that indicates whether the grid is visible for new reports.

  • Snap to grid

  • Snap sizes like Crystal Reports

Flag that determines the size snapping behavior. If this option is enabled then the size snapping behavior is the same as in Crystal Reports. Snapped sizes are calculated as multiples of the preset grid size. Otherwise one pixel is added to the snapped size. This behavior helps to better align and connect visually neighboring elements.

  • Grid width

Grid width used for new reports. The width is specified using default report units.

  • Grid height

Grid height used for new reports. The height is specified using default report units.
